Same Name, different times.

The “hot-rod” of the four Gen 5 Bronco’s has become the unintentional (drive to failure) mule. Sadly it also reveals issues with some of today’s parts and service industry. I have been both inspired and appalled in both categories.

Classic PNW…

I have grown fond of camping out of these trucks. They go everywhere (short wheelbase) yet have enough room to shelter in place and enough truck DNA to pull an off-road camper, or save another off roader when they get stuck.

94 with a 6” on 35’s and the 95 with - at the time 31’s and a load leveler. You can drive to multiple states and another country from here in the dirt.

End of an October trip where we woke up to the first snow in the high country.

I wish every one of these was purchased and stored somewhere. Some of our US laws want all of these crushed. Not only the truck, but all the history attached is lost when that happens.

We have another one nearing 300,000 miles on the factory long block. 32 years old; countless trips and numerous parts installed on the assembly line, still working fine…..

Tiny O'Reilly LED’s wired into the aftermarket door panels. ZERO issues for several years running. Not everything needs to be expensive. A friend recently built an LS small block that screams and is mostly TEMU and Amazon (Chinesium) parts. Spend $$ on the right parts, not everything. You can simply say, “No thank you” to much of the costly hype.

The owner of this salvage yard provided me with my own stall to take everything I could off a fairly clean 95 XLT. Again - the stories told as I “harvested” everything I could from this Bronco. Bitter-sweet,

Rust Proofing during the rebuild / service of ABS sensors, rotors, bearings and 4WD hub assembly.

Aftermarket dash reinforcement plate, in conjunction with melted in staples, plastic stock and various epoxies.
